Video: The Abolition of England, Ireland—and Christendom

Here is the second of a new series of voice-only conversation episodes between my beloved wife Kim and myself.

It is, once again, a highly personal episode, wherein we both speak about our experience of living in England and Ireland, over the course of many years.

The episode features, then, a fair amount of autobiography, much of it in reference to our startling conversion to the Catholic Faith and the latent anti-Catholicism present in our own English culture.

That said, the real focus here is the deliberate dechristianisation perpetrated by progressive elites in Britain and Ireland—such as those working in the BBC, RTE, politics and higher education—to destroy Christian and Catholic culture in both countries.

Our conversation takes many cues from the great Peter Hitchens’ book The Abolition of Britain as well as Hilaire Belloc’s Europe and the Faith — masterpieces both discussed here.

Yet the episode is not simply a regurgitation of Belloc and Hitchens, but, again, our long years of personal witness to what amounts to nothing less than the abolition of the real England and the real Ireland. It is an abolition frequently born of hatred of tradition and the arrogance of knowing better . . .

Kim has witnessed this from her earliest years, for as she tells here, she was born and raised in London.

As for myself, I was not born in England, but America—albeit of an English mother and father. Leaving America to move to England in 1980, age sixteen, I have watched the Americanisation of Europe ever since.

And this, I suggest, is yet another factor in compromising not only what is genuinely English and Irish, but what remains of of European Christendom . . .

Finally, if you missed the start of our conversation episodes together, you just might want to begin with the first one here below—even if, I hasten to add, it is hardly necessary to do so!
