Here is a video on Theosophy, Alice Bailey and her prodigious, ceaselessly self-sacrificing, efforts towards a ‘New World Religion’.
It also enters into New Age Spirituality in general and the seminal international New Age community of Findhorn, located in the north of Scotland.
As long-time readers of this website or my books know, I was once a member of the Findhorn community, where I was utterly immersed in Bailey’s Theosophy. As far as I was concerned as a young man, Findhorn’s spirituality was a forerunner for the new ‘One World Religion’ that the Theosophist Bailey toiled for . . .
One might more accurately say: Neo-Theosophist as Alice Bailey departed from Russian Helena Petrovna Blavatsky’s original Theosophy in key ways. Notably, as I explain in the video, she attempted to put a superficial Western and Christian gloss on the profoundly Eastern nature of Blavatasky’s earlier Nineteenth Century model, which had been more nakedly and obviously anti-Christian.
The fact that Alice Bailey was an Englishwoman, living in America and married to a self-professed high-grade American Freemason, also belongs to a curious, but immensely potent, mix of things that has transformed the Anglo-American world far more than most people realise.
I leave it to the video itself to say more—except to note two things.
First, the video is actually a lengthy preview of a much longer episode I hope to release before Christmas, if at all possible. This should be Episode 46 with the provisional title: The New Age: Universal or Eastern and Anglo-American?
Secondly, those of you read this weblog for whatever insights I may have into Valentin Tomberg’s Project, as I call it, may like to watch it in tandem with my recent Tomberg video below, Valentin Tomberg, Blavatsky and Eastern Occultism Without Christ.
The two videos very much compliment each other.
